Atlassian Summit 2017: Talks and Events for Business Users
Summit 2017 is upon us, and as a business user of the Atlassian products, it can be daunting to navigate your way through the schedule of sessions and demos. While at first it might seem that Atlassian Summit is only for technical users of the tools, there’s plenty going on for everyone.
My top picks this year include:
Get to know Trello at Summit
I’ve used Trello before but not since Atlassian has acquired it. I’m interested to see what’s changed and how I can make it work for my team.
Ways to Enhance Visual Communication with Lucidchart at Summit
Lucidchart states that “we will cover the importance of visual communication, the power of collaboration on the cloud, and the impact these two aspects can have on individual, team, and company-wide productivity.” Boosting company wide productivity never hurt anyone, yes please!
How Atlasssian is building a Gender Balanced Team at Scale and Diversity in Tech
As a female-led business, we’re always looking at ways to continue building our gender balanced team. I’m interested to hear more about the initiatives around diversity that Atlassian has used and how we can implement that.
Become a Confluence Whiz Kid at Summit!
At Think&Do, we already have some Confluence Whiz Kids. In fact, we run Atlassian’s Confluence training classes for them. While I’ve sat in on those classes, it’s always useful to get another perspective on how to make the most out of a tool that is central to our organization.
Some other Summit tips:
- Don’t forget to take full advantage of the Agenda part of the Summit app. It allows you to plan in advance which sessions, demos, etc. are most important to you. It will remind you when your chosen “appointments” are about to start.
- Remember to factor in time to walk the show floor so you can get to know what makes Partners such an important part of the Atlassian ecosystem. And of course there’s Summit Bash which is a great opportunity to meet Atlassians, partners and other attendees.
